Azure Stack Hub is an extension of Azure acts as a hybrid cloud platform that enables you to manage all your cloud-native, legacy/ modern applications and services in an on-premise environment and brings an experience of having Azure in your local data center.

Azure Stack can be easily integrated into your data center using either Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) or Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS and brings Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services to your private/ hosted cloud in a cloud consumption model. Microsoft continually delivers Azure innovations that includes new services, updates to existing services, and so on to Azure Stack Hub that empowers you to embrace hybrid cloud computing for your business needs.

Using Azure Stack Hub, you can apply consistent DevOps processes as it is built on Industry-Standard hardware, and it doesn’t matter if you are connected to Azure or not. As a service administrator you can manage and configure Azure Stack Hub with the administrator portal and deliver services to tenants using plans, quotas, offers and subscriptions. Microsoft Azure Stack Hub comes with the default RPs like Storage, Compute, Network, SQL RP, etc., out of the box offering Azure services to Azure Stack Hub users.

In this day and age, people who invested in Azure Stack like you are started wondering how to leverage Azure Stack Hub as a self-service portal not only let your Tenants to manage and provision VMs in the Azure Stack but also outside within your existing datacenter like VMware, System Center/ Hyper-V infrastructure, Windows Azure Pack, OpenStack, and so on.

Having said
, there are bunch of Resource Providers that comes out of the box with the Azure Stack Hub. Likewise, Cloud Assert has built VConnect as a true-native resource provider for Azure Stack Cross-Cloud Integrations and Management. You can deploy VConnect in Azure Stack Hub similar to other RPs and it has its own set of APIs in the backend to integrate with Non-Azure Stack technologies such as VMware, WAP and so on. VConnect allows you to use ARM templates and Azure PowerShell to manage resources against those Non-Azure Stack technologies.

How to integrate non-Azure Stack technologies like VMware environment with Azure Stack using VConnect can be seen in this link.

On the contrary

, Azure Stack doesn’t offer a native billing solution to chargeback the customers based on their resource consumptions as public cloud Azure doing today.

Instead of having report from the Microsoft at the end of the month and then transforming the cost to the end customer by sharing it to them on a separate portal like WHMSCS, Cloud Assert has built Usage & Billing as a true-native Resource Provider for Azure Stack Hub that allows you and your end user to see the ongoing usages, pricing, invoices, etc., right within your Azure Stack admin and the tenant portal. This is what Azure public cloud offers today and our goal is to bring the same experience for Azure Stack users as well.

Cloud Assert Billing solution enables you as a service admin to define multiple pricing models within Azure Stack for all available services, resource meters, plans and offers.

Learn how to track your resource consumption against your Azure Stack subscriptions and show or chargeback your customer based on their usages on real-time in this link.

Cloud Assert RPs for Azure Stack would be tested and validated by Microsoft Azure Stack team before it comes to the market and it is compatible to all the latest version of Azure Stack Hub.
